Libby Frame- Memory Illustration

  1. I really like this piece! I particularly like the colors you chose of the cave, sticking with blues, purples and red hues. And the character feels like it's from a studio Ghibli film (a good thing by the way!). I also like that is as this watercolor feel to it.

The only things that stand out to me is that her (is it a her?) right hand looks a little wonky and the bones kind of look like they are floating (perhaps intensifying the shadows underneath it would help).

Other than that, it's a solid work of art!

  2. I really really like this! I love your lines and how there is a great depth created by the colors in front middle and back. Also great job framing the figure. This is such a nitpicky thing to point out but the bone in the lower left corner is just a touch too close to that pointy rock for me. I agree with Rachel about the right hand being a little bit at an odd angle, but the pose overall is great. It really tells a story and has a definite mood with the colors, great job!

  3. Great piece, Libby. Actually, I've really enjoyed your last two pieces. Wonderful line work combined with good colors. A good style that feels balanced and fully realized to me. I keep looking at it and thinking that if you took anything away or added anything else, you might lose that nice balance. I agree with the comments above, but they are very small issues and as a whole this piece works very well. I still want know the story behind it...

  4. This is killer! (which is good). I love the colors here and how the warm foreground transitions into a more cool background, giving depth. The rocks are well done, and the composition reads well. The only thing I see is maybe fixing that right arm a bit.

  5. Fun piece! I love the simple color scheme. It's working really well. I like that there's a clear foreground, middle ground, and background, but I think there could be a bit more of a transition between the middle ground and background. It's a little abrupt right now. I'm curious about the story!
