I went ahead and made some adjustments to this assignment after the critique in class. I really liked how the yellow background helped to pull the character out from the background and make him "pop" so I went ahead and implemented that in my own painting. I also followed Justin's advice and toned down the highlights significantly, leaving only a few in the areas that would be in the foreground. Finally, I also extended the armor on the head to fit in what would be more of a believable way.
